These terms govern your use of TrainKothai — the trainkothai.com website and our free train tracking apps for Android and iPhone. By using either, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
TrainKothai is free online train tracking for Bangladesh. Open trainkothai.com or the free app and you can track any train’s live location in real time, see how late it is running today, and look up full route schedules — no sign-up, no charge, and no SMS fee. It is provided for general information and journey planning only.
The trains are Bangladesh Railway services, and TrainKothai is the independent tracker that shows you where they actually are. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by Bangladesh Railway or any government body. We do not sell tickets, reserve seats, or handle any part of your booking. See our Disclaimer for the limits on data accuracy.
TrainKothai is 100% free train tracking — no registration, no subscription, and nothing deducted from your mobile balance. We fund it through advertising. We may introduce optional paid features in future; if we do, they will be clearly marked as such and these terms will be updated first.
Train positions are crowdsourced from passengers running the app, estimated from the official Bangladesh Railway timetable, or derived from BR’s public SMS service. All three can be delayed, incomplete, or wrong.

When you contribute anonymised GPS positions through the app, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use that data to operate and improve the service — including showing aggregated positions to other users. You keep no ownership claim over the aggregated result, and we never publish anything that identifies you. Contribution is opt-in and can be revoked at any time in your device settings.
The TrainKothai name, logo, design, code, and original written content are ours and are protected by copyright and trade mark law. You may link to our pages freely and quote short extracts with attribution. You may not copy the site wholesale, reproduce our content at scale, or present our data as your own.
Underlying railway timetable information is public data published by Bangladesh Railway and is not claimed by us.
This site displays third-party advertising and may link to external sites. We do not control, endorse, or take responsibility for third-party content, products, or privacy practices. Any dealing you have with an advertiser is between you and them. How advertising cookies work is set out in our Privacy Policy.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, TrainKothai and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of the service — including missed trains, missed connections, wasted travel costs, lost income, or lost opportunities resulting from inaccurate or unavailable information.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
We may update these terms as the service develops. The effective date at the top will change, and material changes will be announced on the site. Continuing to use TrainKothai after an update means you accept the revised terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, and the courts of Bangladesh have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
